(Also Gilder Rain Tree)
Laburnum anagyroides
Height up to 9 m
Natural range: Native to central and southern Europe.

Small tree clothed in drooping racemes of yellow pea-like flowers in May or June. All parts of the plant are poisonous, especially the seeds.

At the corner where the Laburnum Walk meets the main path from the car park, turn left and look at the trees at the edge of the spinney to spot holes made by woodpeckers in an ash tree.
