Join us on Knighton Green for an afternoon exploring the local wildlife and sharing ideas to encourage wildlife in our neighbourhood. We have a full programme planned and other local organisations will be joining us too.
It’s a family friendly afternoon so do bring friends and family along, there’s no need to book.
The programme timings are being finalised now but we will have:
- a mini-beast and bug hunt
- a pollinator plant swap
- a tree and wildflower identification trail
- a walk and talk around the Green looking at the wildlife features
- a pop-up mini-library of wildlife and gardening books to share
- A duck race organised by St Mary’s Church
Saffron Acres, Leicestershire Hedgehog Rescue and St Mary’s Eco Church project will also have stalls providing information about their work.
We can use some help on the day!
- Do you have a few spare pollinator plants for the plant swap? Pot them up, stick a label in and bring them along on the day.
- Can you contribute to the wildlife and gardening pop-up library? Bring your spare books along on the day.
- Can you help staff the plant swap stall for half an hour?
- We want to make sure the area is clean before and after the event. Can you help us with a litter pick?
If you can help please drop me an email letting me know how you can help.
We will be maintaining social distance measures but look forward to seeing you on the 31st.
What’s the post code to Knighton Green please.
Hello Nigel I am sorry for the long delay in replying but I did not see the message notification. If you do still need to know the postcode the best is the postcode for St Mary Magdalen Church which is LE2 3WG. Its location is at the bottom of Church Lane and on the left is an open space with trees etc which runs up to Kenwood Rd. John Crookes
