When you are out in the garden, it is worth keeping your ears open for unusual sounds and remembering that birds fly overhead. Birds like crows and magpies will often call out when they see birds of prey and will chase them away, as in the case of this buzzard, which flew over the garden and was chased by a crow, which was calling loudly.
Over the last week I have also seen a raven fly over the garden, chased by two crows.
Just looking up occasionally can reveal birds that you maybe wouldn’t get in the garden like mallard and little egret, which have flown over recently.
The Little Egret in Knighton Park seems to have a mate now, not sure where or if they are nesting.
