Putting the Churchyard meadow to bed for the winter

Can you come and help us this Saturday morning raking the arisings after its late summer cut?

We need to remove the growth of grass and dead vegetation so we don’t add nutrient to the soil. The wildflowers in the meadow thrive in poor soil so its important we clear the ground as soon as possible.

We will start at 10.00 am Saturday in St Mary’s Churchyard and plan to finish about 12.00.  All tools provided but do wear stout footwear.  Extra rakes would be helpful. Nicky will be brewing up on the Kelly kettle so do bring a mug to get tea or coffee.

Just turn up but if you can, do let me know if you are coming by emailing  info@knightonwild.org.uk
