Meadow sowing working group – Saturday 13th April 2019

It was hard work but worth it. 14 friends of Knighton Green helped to clear the ground and sow the wildflower seed for a display of beautiful pollinating flowers all summer.  First of all the dead grass and perennial weeds had to be removed and a tilth created with rakes. Then the seed was sown – best done with tiny hands.  Finally we all walked up and down arm-in-arm to firm the seeds into the tilth.

Now all we need to do is hope for some gentle showers!
