Meet at Church Lane end of the site, 2.00 pm. Everyone welcome.
Knighton Green is the proposed name for the area at the end of Kenwood Road, also known as Kenwood Road Green Space or Kingsmead Road Green Space. Since earlier this year, we have been exploring the possibility of a project to improve it for wildlife through the City Council’s crowdfunding initiative with SpaceHive. Over the last few weeks John Crookes has had a couple of meetings with council officers about the proposals and they are keen that we work with them to improve the area. But progress is dependent on us being able to form a small working group to develop the ideas into a specific proposal. John has put an outline set of ideas up on the Council’s crowdfunding partner’s (Spacehive) website. You can see this at https://www.spacehive.com/knighton-green . Please look at the website if you have a moment.
During the Open Gardens event, we encouraged people to go and have a look at the space and gathered comments and ideas from people about what they thought. To get a group of people together to take it further, we are planning an open meeting in October (more about that in another piece on the website), but are starting off with a site visit for people who are interested on Saturday 18th August at 2.00pm.
John has already contacted people who have previously expressed an interest, but if you would like to go along, or are interested but can’t make it on Saturday, please email us:
