Leicester Environment Volunteers have organised two sessions at Wash Brook Nature Park in January. The first, on Thursday 18th January from 10.00 am to 12.30 pm, will follow on from the work we did on 20th December around the pond, removing more sedge, cutting back the brambles and scrub that is encroaching on the pond, and pulling out a small willow tree that has grown in the middle of the pond. The second session is a more general one to thin scrub and clear near the brook on Wednesday 24th January from 10.00 am to 12.30 pm.
To take part in either or both, you need to follow this link to register on this online form as a volunteer with Leicester Environmental Volunteers for insurance purposes and follow that up with an email to lev@leicester.gov.uk at least five days before the event, so that they know who is coming. There are more details about the Leicester Environmental Volunteers scheme on the council website. (They should update the link with what’s on in January soon.)
